The Orange Couch

Peel back the rind of this locally run business you will find a well managed coffee house. The offerings are refreshing and well thought through. A nice offering of pastries which are flakey as the barista. Luv the light and modern design steeped into the historic cottage. The Coolest is the selection of Mochi in a swirl of delectable flavors, Mango of course!

This place had been a staple of mine for years. Fred the owner is a shiny gem. The coffee is great. Cozy places to hang. Good local spot. Good tunes. Good selection of quick food offerings . And Fred even does his very best to have gluten free pastry’s available which means the world to me. Def worth a visit or 3 to the orange couch!

MY FAVOURITE CAFE other than Zotz. Very clean, very modern. Internet cafe good WiFi signal. Bice outside seating and shade. Ice-cream and coffee ☕🍧a delicious combo. I love their greentea milkshakes and their mango mochi absolutely delicious. I would go here every-day if I could! Really nice staff aswell! I had their matcha mochi reccomended to me aswell! Go there you will love it! 😀

Being new to NO from DC and open to recommendations from locals who enjoy great coffee and support small businesses, TOC came highly recommended. Unfortunately, I could never recommend this place because the customer service Cameron served today(8/7/23) was extremely unprofessional and it demonstrated a lack of emotional intelligence times 1,000. Typically on my first visit to a coffee shop I am open to trying the house brew(I really enjoy the bean over everything) or whatever beverage makes the shop unique in the sea of "great" coffee shops throughout NO. Well, I guess Cameron didn't feel like doing his job today. After taking time to review the menu, I had questions. However, Cameron felt the need to refer me to the menu 3 times to avoid answering the simple question, "Is the Vietnamese coffee a premade mix and if so, does it have dairy in it(I'm lactose intolerant so it's a valid concern.) and what other cold coffee drinks do you offer(there is no cold coffee listed on the menu)." Always a good idea to ask vs. assume. It was then that Cameron became grossly rude and stated that I was an "energy vampire" and "on one"... excuse me...come again...can you define what you mean by "on one" 'cause this is faaaaar from what it means to be "on one" since you took it there. My guess is Cameron wasn't a fan of me asking him to define "on one" in a calm tone. It was clear that he was in fact a dream killer and his energy wreaked like Bourbon St. after a wild hot night. To add insult to injury, Cameron turned to his female friend whom he had been holding a personal conversation with prior to me being ready to order and asked if she'd prefer to continue their conversation outside because he wasn't about that life. Running to escape the confrontation which he had created. Somehow, I bet this type of behavior doesn't generate maximum profit for TOC and certainly doesn't create a welcoming vibe. Cameron, life is short and you set the tone for your personal happiness and success, do better.
